Mark D. Rasmussen, MD, is the Anesthesia Director for University Ambulatory Surgery Center in La Jolla, CA, a diamond rated SCA facility. He has been in private practice for 11 years as a partner with Anesthesia Services Medical Group in San Diego, CA. His skills in regional anesthesia are well regarded.

Prior to his civilian life, he served and trained in the U.S. Navy. He is a decorated combat veteran for services rendered in Iraq. Some of his Navy research encompassed patient safety methods at the San Diego Veterans Medical Center. Before he pursuing his medical degree, he was a medical device engineer and consultant.
