Dr. Michael Cross is an adult reconstruction and joint replacement surgeon at OrthoIndy inIndianapolis, IN.

Dr. Cross grew up in the suburbs of Indianapolis, IN. He received his A.B. fromWashington University in St. Louis with a double major in Chemistry and Mathematics, and played varsity football. He then completed his medical school at Vanderbilt University, where he graduated as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Cross then completed his residency at Hospital for Special Surgery, where he was awarded the Distinguished Housestaff Award from New York Presbyterian Hospital, the Russell Warren Basic Science Research Award, and the prestigious Jean McDaniel Award.

After residency, Dr. Cross completed his fellowship at Rush University, where he won the Jorge Galante Award for excellence in research, and the prestigious Frank Stinchfield award from the Hip Society. After fellowship, Dr. Cross joined the medical staff at Hospital for Special Surgery for the first 8 years of his practice, where he received a teaching award, and served roles as Chief of Research for the ARJR service, Co-Medical Director for HSS Westchester, and chairman of the Curriculum Committee.

Dr. Cross currently has over 120 peer reviewed publications, and has been invitedfaculty for national and international meetings including Current Concepts in Joint Replacement (CCJR), Chinese Orthopaedic Association (COA), London Knee Meeting, and American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). Further, Dr. Cross has demonstrated his commitment to education, being a long-time faculty for resident courses sponsored by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), AAHKS, International Congress for Joint Reconstruction (ICJR), and American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Resident Leadership Forum.

Dr. Cross is currently is an active member of AAOS, AAHKS, and AOA.
